Course Breakdown
Our Mat Pilates Course is a 135 Hour course to ensure that you can teach Mat Pilates well upon completion.
CLASS ATTENDANCE & OBSERVATION
- Minimum 35 Hours Group Classes +/- Observation
ONLINE SELF DIRECTED LEARNING MATERIALS
- Online Modules with access to 50+ Mat Pilates Moves and Foundational Theory, approximately 40 hours.
TEACHING COMPONENT
- 25 Hours In Person Practice Teaching & Learning (practical days - 12-14th JUNE 2026)
- 30 Hours Independent Practice Teaching and Cueing (self directed learning).
- Support from community of graduates, teachers in Facebook community and via email.
Assessment to Complete Certification
- 5 Hours Assessment Prep for video submission to be submitted after the In Person Portion.
- Assessment via video submission at a later time (subjected to completion of online hours).
Completion of Online & Self Directed Learning Hours is not required before the In Person Days. The In Person Days are designed as part of your learning, and as part of the 135 hours. Early sign ups are recommended for your hours to start building your hours.

Do I have to have experience on the Mat or Reformer before doing this course?
We get this a lot! The answer is no. Mat is actually the foundation to Reformer so we recommend you to start with the Mat Course to make it a great start to your Pilates Journey. This is our FINAL In Person mat training in AUCKLAND for 2026, so don't miss out.
How long do I have access to the course?
After enrolling, you have 7 Months access to this material.
What support will I get during the course?
You can ask questions at any time on our facebook page The SO Academy (immediate lifetime access to our Facebook community) and have any of your question answered by your teaching team, trainees and graduates. You would also get access to communication to your teaching team closer towards the course date.
How is the training structured?
Your training does not only consist of the online materials. As part of the programme, you will be required to do some self training and practice hours, attend group class for observation and practice hours, along with your practical in person days.
Your certification is only granted upon completion of all the necessary hours and tasks.
You do not have to complete your online or self directed hours before attending your In Person dates.

What is included in the course fee?
The pricing includes In Person hours, practical assessment via video, online materials and short quizzes, hard copy manual and support throughout the course. Daily tea are included in your tuiton fee. Travel and accommodation cost to our in person location is not included.
