I’m looking for a Pilates Course
suitable for physiotherapists, chiros, osteopaths and more…
It is well known that Pilates is very well researched and now is strongly evidence backed for clinical rehab for musculoskeletal issues, namely lower back pain, neck pain and more.
Allied Health Professionals like Physiotherapist, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Exercise Physiologist and more have found that Pilates compliment their skill sets and is a strong tool to help their clients in their recovery process.
The reason why it works so well is because Pilates works on local, stabilizer muscles that create local stability around each joint in the body, which in turn helps to create proper movement fundamentals our body needs to function well, so we can in turn load our body well against gravity, with load (strength training), and more. Often, when you have had an injury or a surgery, our bodies need to relearn proper movement again from the ground up like when we did as babies, which makes Pilates a perfect tool to help facilitate this.
Here at The SO Academy (TSA), we have had multiple allied health professionals come through our Apparatus Teacher Training Courses across the years to upskill, and here are some of the reasons why they choose TSA (and common questions we get).
Im an allied health professional, is this course for me?
Yes, 100%. Our teacher training courses are designed by our Head Trainer & Master Instructor who also happens to be a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with 10+ years of clinical experience. She's fully certified in all Pilates apparatus and have been utilising Pilates in her daily clinical practice for the last decade. We are very fortunate to have her teaching our courses, and in turn our students are also very fortunate as our base Teacher Training courses already include basic clinical pilates and clinical pearls for our students to start exploring the beauty of Pilates in the clinical pilates space.
Our Master Instructor & Head Trainer Nicole also holds multiple Postgraduate Certificates in different areas of Physiotherapy like Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy & Acupuncture along side her qualifications in multiple anatomy, movement and physio-based skills.
I’m not looking to change careers, I just want to upskill, is this course still for me
Yes definitely! Allied health professionals dont have the need to certify as their professional qualifications already allow them to practice and incorporate pilates safely in their practice. We recommend if you are not looking to certify, to utilize the online materials and in person days + manuals to upskill appropriately. It is optional to choose to complete the certification by completing the group class and self directed learning hours. However, you MUST complete all components to receive the official certification and be certified.
Does this course count as cpd?
Yes it does. You will have to check with your relevant board on how cpd hours are counted and what proof you need to submit. We encourage all students to complete the full course and gain certification for proper cpd submission.
Is there a basic course or a discount if im not looking to certify and only want to upskill?
Unfortunately, our prices are standard across each cohort for all students. However, we do do early bird offers which offers a discount to all students if enrollment was made during the early bird period.
